Air Force Culture and Language Center (AFCLC)
The application window for the fall LEAP selection board ends Friday 31 August at midnight Central Standard Time (CST). Application documents received after this time will not be eligible for board presentation and will be deferred until the next application period. The next active duty enlisted application period is expected in January 2013 and the next active duty officer application period will occur around July 2013. Please keep an eye on the LEAP site for those announcements.

What is the Process?

LEAP will accept applications from 2 July through midnight CST 31 August, 2012. The selection board is scheduled to convene at the Air Force Culture and Language Center (AFCLC) on Maxwell AFB, AL in mid-September. Applicants and their commanders / supervisors will be notified individually of their selection status approximately 30 days after the conclusion of the board.

What do I need?
Airmen who meet all of the eligibility requirements and would like to apply to become a LEAP participant will need to provide the following documents in a PDF format. Please ensure your documents are readable. Documents electronically converted to a PDF format are preferred over a scanned PDF. All required documents must be submitted NLT 31 August to successfully apply. Any applications received after the NLT date will not be eligible for the Fall 2012 LEAP Selection Board.
  • Statement of Intent (SOI) (Completed in Adobe Reader only)
  • DLPT or OPI Score Report
  • University Transcripts (If applicable) student copies are acceptable
  • SURF (Active Duty Only)
  • Three most recent OPRs, EPRs, Training Reports, or combination (Active Duty Only)
  • Endorsement Form, digitally signed by Commander or Supervisor
  • Certificates from accredited foreign language schools (Optional)
